Hwi is MIA as all the ish hits the fan at the Palace. Everyone thinks he’s really for-real for-real dead this time and are succumbing to Kang’s machinations. Kang is now King, but all he seems to care about is getting Ja-hyun between the sheets before anyone finds out. However, the only thing Ja-hyun cares about is killing Kang. She actually succeeded in getting him to drink the poison, but something must have gone wrong when she pulled out that dagger.
Posting this as a quickcap, so there will be typos! As far as this episode goes, I will say that JH is a lot more bout it than I originally gave her credit for and nobody better try and con Lu Shi-gae.
Okay, y’all. Hopefully Hwi wakes up and sees his brother for the evil person he really is and not just as a man who wants the throne. I mean, he killed a childhood friend, tried to kill Hwi which subsequently left him stuck in prison for 3 years, gave him his very own bloody wedding, and tried to steal his wife on top of it. The writing is on the wall Hwi, what more do you need?
I have a feeling that Lu Shi Gae will get her moment to shine in the coming two episodes. I really hope so because I feel a lot of rolling my eyes at the screen coming because you know Hwi is going to end up in jail on some trumped-up charges and Ja Hyun is going to go begging Kang to let her man go free. I at least want to see Lu Shi Gae get her spotlight and take some people out! I know, it’s a lot to ask.
The last episode was basically a rehash of the first episode, though they did have some additional critical scenes thrown in (plus a lovely reunion scene between our couple). I hope to see more about the aftermath of what happened when Hwi got shot with the arrow. Some images show him being nursed by SG, but was SG in jail with him or just visiting him? So many questions!
I think we should be back to the present in this episode! Or at least these two episodes. But we have a 3 year gap to account for that I hope gets addressed today. I’m looking forward to the reunion, but I am also looking forward to the 3 comrades bonding as they struggle to survive and make it back to Joseon.
I am pretty excited that Lu Shi-gae has made her appearance. She was the most adorably bad-A warrior in the first episode and immediately intrigued me to her storyline, so I hope she is in the show until the end. As far as our hero and his friends, it is not looking good. I also feel a hero’s death coming in the form of the generals son who is there to protect Hwi; because he didn’t make it back to Joseon with them. But maybe he made it back on his own?
I’m rushing because I didn’t prepare a picture for Grand Prince. We’ll just go without a picture for now and I’ll add it later (added it!). I really just want to watch Grand Prince right now because Misty had the worst ending ever. (Do not watch that show). I need some Grand Prince magic!
I almost didn’t use that above picture because it just feels like there is something so scandalous about two unmarried people kissing out in the open in Joseon. Even though they are only kissing, that is basically like knocking boots in that era. I am pretty shocked that we got this kiss IN PUBLIC, but I am very happy that it happened. We had a confession of love on both sides and Hwi was going through the motions of setting up the wedding. If only that declaration of war didn’t ruin the mood.
Yep, that girl up and jumped right into a lake with her hand held up so someone will save her. Or perhaps she was waving bye-bye to the world? Whatever the case, she has definitely set the stage for dying for her beliefs so I expect a lot of turmoil when a decision does not go the way she wants it to go. Case in point, her impending wedding (from episode 1). I have a feeling she is not going to just let that happen.
